DESCRIPTION:\nWe are delighted to be hosting first aid courses in Beverley at the Beverley Enterprise Centre. There is plenty of free parking onsite and lunch and refreshments are included. Our first aid courses in Hull are very popular with schools and businesses and therefore book early as places are limited.\n\n\nThe Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) introduces the techniques, skills and decisions that will be needed by childcare practitioners. The skills and knowledge will be taught in a realistic context and we will adhere to government social distancing guidelines throughout ensuring candidates feel safe and risk of cross-infection is minimized at all times.\nYou will receive pre-course information instructions prior to attending the course.\nThe course includes the following: Unit 1: EPFA – Emergency Paediatric First Aid\n\nDealing with an unconscious casualty\nCPR on infants and children\nSafe airway position\nMonitoring a casualty\nChoking\nBleeding\nSeizures\nAnaphylaxis\nShock\nFirst aid kit use\nCompleting accident reports\n\nUnit 2: PFA – Managing Paediatric Illness, Injuries and Emergencies\n\nSpinal injury\nMedical conditions\nBurns and scalds\nElectricity\nLimb support\nBites/stings\nPoisoning\nMinor injuries\nCold/heat\n\nThe training and assessment typically consists of a 2-day (12 hours).  Students are  assessed continuously by tutor observation of ‘real-life’ skills benchmarked to National Occupational Standards.\nCertificates are valid for 3 years\n\n\n\n
