DESCRIPTION:\nThis one-day Level 3 Emergency First Aid for Schools course is designed to provide you with the emergency first aid skills to look after adults and children in a medical emergency. It is suitable for primary and secondary schools, colleges and further education institutions as well as those working with children and adults.\nOur first aid courses are supportive and flexible to adapt to your workplace needs. All our highly skilled tutors are very experienced teachers with a fresh, fun and friendly approach to delivering first aid. Our unique Act Fast First games and activities have been designed for you to leave our courses feeling highly skilled and confident first aiders and ready to act fast first in an emergency.\nCOURSE DESCRIPTION: \nThe  Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid for Schools qualification covers adult and child first aid in the following areas;\n\nRoles and Responsibilities of the first aider\nMinimising risk in an emergency situation\nSafe Accident Procedures\nSafe Airway Positions\nFirst aid for seizures\nCardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use of AEDs\nDealing with Choking\nTreatment for bleeding and Shock\nAppropriate First Aid Kit Use\nCompleting Accident Forms\n\nCourse Duration & Assessment: The qualification consists of one unit. The training and assessment typically consists of a one day (6+ hour) course leading to the qualification and students are assessed continuously by tutor observation of ‘real-life’ skills which have been benchmarked to National Occupational Standards.\nThis certificate is valid for three years. Certificate renewal is by completion of another Emergency First Aid for Schools training course.
