DESCRIPTION:\nThis is the three-day Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification which is offered as a blended option requiring independent online study (6 hours) and 2 days of practical classroom assessment (12 hours) leading to the full award. \nThis two-day first aid course is designed to provide you with the first aid skills to look after a casualty at work and is suitable for larger workplaces and thus identifying more medium to high risks. \nOur first aid at work courses are supportive and flexible to adapt to your workplace needs. All our highly skilled tutors are very experienced teachers with a fresh, fun and friendly approach to delivering first aid. Our unique Act Fast First games and activities have been designed for you to leave our courses feeling highly skilled and confident first aiders and ready to ACT FAST in an emergency. \nCOURSE DESCRIPTION: \nThe Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification covers the following:\n\nRoles and responsibilities of the first aider \nMinimising risk in an emergency situation \nSafe accident procedures including primary survey\nConduct a secondary survey\nSafe airway positions \nCardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use of AEDs \nDealing with choking \nManaging a casualty in seizure \nTreatment for bleeding and shock \nDealing with catastrophic bleeds and use of torniquets, military dressings and haemostatic dressings\nFirst aid for burns and scalds including electrical and chemical burns\nCommon minor injuries in the workplace \nAppropriate first aid kits and equipment\nManaging fractures and dislocations\nManaging pelvic injuries\nFirst aid for sprains and strains and soft tissue injuries\nSerious head injuries including concussion, compression and fractured skull \nManging a casualty with a suspected spinal injury \nFirst aid for a chest injuries including broken ribs and open chest wounds\nFirst aid for eye injuries \nFirst aid for poisoning \nDealing with a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) \nDealing with major illnesses, such as, heart attack and stroke \nDealing with a diabetic emergency\nManaging a casualty during an asthma attack\nReportable injuries under RIDDOR\n\nCourse Duration & Assessment:\nThe training and assessment typically consists of a two day (12+ hour) course. The online element to the course (6 hours) is assessed by completion of a workbook that must be completed before the face-to-face practical sessions. This will be sent to you to complete upon booking the course. \nStudents are assessed continuously by tutor observation of ‘real-life’ skills in a friendly and supportive way. There are no written tests to complete at the end of the course as the outcomes are assessed by demonstration of practical first aid in our fun and interactive scenario-based approach throughout the day.\nThis certificate is valid for three years and certificate renewal is by completion of another First Aid at Work Re qualification training course.\n\n \n
