First Aid Instructor Training – 5 Day Course

To qualify as a first aid trainer and teach externally regulated and accredited first aid courses, you are required to hold a teaching qualification and the Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification. We combine these two courses over 5 days ensuring you meet the industry standards to begin on your first aid trainer career.

**If you already have a teaching qualification, you will need to complete the 3 day course. Follow the link here to book.

Over the 5-day course you will complete both qualifications as well as independent work to meet the assessment outcomes. You will be required to submit a portfolio of evidence as well as deliver a short (15 minute) micro-teaching session.

Level 3 Award in Education and Training

This level 3 award is an introduction to the role of teaching and assessing and is an entry level teaching qualification to prepare you for teaching first aid. It does not require you to be in current teaching roles and is suitable to those who are new to teaching.

Modules include topics from the following:

Roles and responsibilities, professional boundaries, inclusion, differentiation, teaching and learning theory, lesson planning and delivery, assessment, evaluation, professional standards and professional development.  Candidates will also be required to prepare and deliver a short first aid micro-teaching session as part of the course.

The assessment of this qualification is based on evidence generated by written assignments, micro teaching and reflective practices. You will be required to submit a portfolio of evidence to meet the assessment criteria for each module of the qualification.
