Level 3 16 Hour Outdoor First Aid Course
ITC Level 3 8hr/16hr Hour Outdoor First Aid Course.
The ITC course provides a safe and systematic approach to first aid and covers the practical skills needed by those who work or spend time in a more remote environments. This first aid qualification will keep most National Governing Body Instructor awards valid.
This 2 day course is divided into two units:
Unit 1: Outdoor Emergency Action
Unit 2: Outdoor Incident Management
Over the 2 days the course will cover the following:
• Vital signs
• Managing own safety in outdoor first aid situations
• Contacting emergency services
• Assessment of casualty
• Accident procedure
• CPR protocols for cardiac arrest and drowning
• Use of AED
• Bleeding and Shock
• Dealing with fractures, head, neck and torso injuries
• Medical emergencies, including seizures, strokes, diabetes and asthma
• Hypothermia and hyperthermia
• Bites, stings and outdoor related infections such as Weil’s Disease
• Triage and incident management
Course duration and assessment:
2 days (16 hours) 9.00am – 6pm both days
Assessment is ongoing throughout. There will be lots of practical based scenarios for you to practise and apply your skills in an outdoor setting.
