Our ‘Train the Teacher’ course is designed for school staff to become qualified first aid trainers under our accredited centre, Act Fast First Aid saving schools money in the longer term but still ensuring the highest of standards in terms of course content and delivery.

Once registered with Act Fast First Aid, teachers will then be qualified to teach a range of level 3 first aid qualifications in schools as well as non-accredited courses to children and young people. It can also provide additional income for your school providing accredited first courses in your local area for schools and businesses as well as for your wider school trust.

There are two routes into schools can take depending on existing qualifications.

Option 1:
This is for staff who do not currently hold a teaching qualification. The course is 5 days and includes:

• Level 3 Award in Education and Training
• Level 3 First Aid at Work
• Level 3 Paediatric First Aid
• Induction to Act Fast First Aid and quality assurance procedures

A portfolio of evidence is required for the Level 3 in Education and Training as well as an observed
micro teaching session as part of the course.

Cost is £600 per person with ongoing monthly subscription of £35 per month. Subscription covers
access to our school’s online portal providing a wealth of information and resources to support your training in schools. It also covers ongoing internal quality assurance which includes teaching and learning observations to meet the awarding body requirements as well as regular updates ensuring teachers are up to date with the latest resuscitation and first aid guidance as set by the Resuscitation Council UK.

In addition, you will have access to our multi-award winning teaching and learning resources and
non-accredited courses for children for young people in schools, including our Act Fast Challenge
which has won awards from Dragons’ Den star, Theo Paphitis and our DofE first aid courses.
You will also have access to our online shop with discounts to buy your resources and first aid
supplies for schools including branded first aid kits and manuals to support your teaching.

Option 2:
For staff who already have a teaching qualification. This course is 3 days and includes:

• Level 3 First Aid at Work
• Level 3 Paediatric First Aid
• Induction to Act Fast First Aid

Cost is £300 per person with an ongoing subscription of £35 per month as above.

To complete the first aid trainer registration, all trainers will observe and be observed delivering part of a first aid qualification as part of the supportive training process and this can be scheduled in once booking is confirmed.
