Would you like to save your school time and money and train a team of dedicated staff who are qualified to provide all your first aid training needs? Join us and become an Act Fast First school where we support your trained team to deliver externally regulated and accredited first aid qualifications and courses in your school. To attend the course, you are required to hold the minimum of a level 3 or above teaching qualification.
Over the 3 days, teachers will complete the Level 3 First Aid at Work and our Act Fast First centre induction as well as independent work to meet the assessment outcomes. You will be required to submit a short blended workbook for the first aid element of the course as well as deliver a short (30 minute) teaching session on day 3.
Course delivery:
Days 1 and 2 – Level 3 First Aid at Work
This is a very practical and interactive course where we apply the first aid at work syllabus into a range of teaching and learning activities to help you teach this effectively in your role in schools. This will be completed through practical demonstrations giving you opportunities to learn and apply first aid skills whilst really understanding the teaching theory and practice behind it to prepare you for your own first aid in school’s training career. For the full First Aid at Work Syllabus see HERE.
Day 3 – Act Fast First Centre Induction
The final day of the course will introduce you to the qualification assessment criteria, how to meet the assessment outcomes, awarding body administration and our Act Fast First quality assurance procedures. You will also be required to deliver a short teaching session on a first aid topic of your choice where you will receive supportive and helpful feedback from your course tutor and class peers. We can also help with the planning with this as we recognise this can be daunting for the first time.
You will also be observed in your school in the first 4 weeks of training to ensure the quality and consistency or our Act Fast First trainers.
