This is the three-day Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification which is offered as a blended option requiring independent online study (6 hours) and 2 days of practical classroom assessment (12 hours) leading to the full award.
This two-day first aid course is designed to provide you with the first aid skills to look after a casualty at work and is suitable for larger workplaces and thos identifying more medium to high risks.

Our unique Act Fast First games and activities have been designed for you to leave our courses feeling highly skilled and confident first aiders and ready to ACT FAST in an emergency.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification covers the following:
- Roles and responsibilities of the first aider
- Minimising risk in an emergency situation
- Safe accident procedures including primary survey
- Conduct a secondary survey
- Safe airway positions
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use of AEDs
- Dealing with choking
- Managing a casualty in seizure
- Treatment for bleeding and shock
- Dealing with catastrophic bleeds and use of torniquets, military dressings and haemostatic dressings
- First aid for burns and scalds including electrical and chemical burns
- Common minor injuries in the workplace
- Appropriate first aid kits and equipment
- Managing fractures and dislocations
- Managing pelvic injuries
- First aid for sprains and strains and soft tissue injuries
- Serious head injuries including concussion, compression and fractured skull
- Manging a casualty with a suspected spinal injury
- First aid for a chest injuries including broken ribs and open chest wounds
- First aid for eye injuries
- First aid for poisoning
- Dealing with a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis)
- Dealing with major illnesses, such as, heart attack and stroke
- Dealing with a diabetic emergency
- Managing a casualty during an asthma attack
- Reportable injuries under RIDDOR
Course Duration & Assessment:
The training and assessment typically consists of a two day (12+ hour) course. The online element to the course (6 hours) is assessed by completion of a workbook that must be completed before the face-to-face practical sessions. This will be sent to you to complete upon booking the course.
Students are assessed continuously by tutor observation of ‘real-life’ skills in a friendly and supportive way. There are no written tests to complete at the end of the course as the outcomes are assessed by demonstration of practical first aid in our fun and interactive scenario-based approach throughout the day.
This certificate is valid for three years and certificate renewal is by completion of another First Aid at Work Re qualification training course.
